Everything You Need To Know About NASCAR
How
To Throw The Perfect NASCAR Tailgate Party
How can you make attending a NASCAR race better?
Have a tailgate party! What is the secret to a perfect NASCAR
tailgate? The timing! You can reach the racetrack anticipating
a tailgate party just as football fans do. One fan suggests
having a tailgate party after the race. Why? Race day traffic
is heavy with everybody trying to get to the racetrack, set
up for a party, and find your seat for the race. After the
race, cars are jammed up trying to get out of the parking lot
at the same time. This fan suggests grilling and dining for
a couple of hours after the race. When the party is over, the
lot is empty and it is no longer a hassle to get out of the
lot and on your way.
When it comes to tailgating, location
is everything. You want
to have a spot that will make others wishing they were you!
Tailgaters are known for their food, dress, and their vehicles.
They show team spirit by displaying team colors and the best
food can be found at a tailgating party. Brats, hot dogs, chicken
wings and burgers are all staples for a tailgating party. Potato
salad and your favorite cold drink are also important parts
to the tailgating party. Tailgaters say you can never take
too much food, drink, or gadgets to tailgating parties. Most
recommend a George Foreman grill that requires no hot coals
to cool or grill to dump.
You
will of course need folding chairs, coolers for your cold
beverages and a flat surface for your menu. That surface can
be a blanket on the ground, roof of a vehicle, bed of a truck
or folding tables. Gadgets that will add to your tailgate party
are speakers for music or pre race coverage; a television is
even better the bigger the screen the better! You will be the
envy of all other tailgaters if you are watching the pre-race
activities on your own TV! You may want to have an a/c power
converter to provide energy for party lights, a mini refrigerator,
and other items that can make your tailgating party a success.
Cup and plate holders are great to have and of course you want
to have plenty of cool brews!
Tailgating food is high in fats and cholesterol so give yourself
permission to enjoy but take special care of your diet the
rest of the week. As far as liquid refreshments go there are
some facts you need to know about beer. Alcohol will give your
body a temporary warm-up but if you drink too much your body
becomes de-sensitized to the cold. You will not feel the cold
but your body can still suffer the affects from the cold.
If you are looking for the perfect tailgating vehicle here
are a few hints on what to look for. First you need space,
you will have plenty of stuff to bring to the party and you’ll
need room to pack all of your supplies. You also need room
for your passengers so look for a vehicle such as a SUV that
will give you plenty of room for guests and goodies. If you
find you need more room, you can always attach a trailer hitch
and pull a small trailer behind your vehicle. You can take
along a second vehicle or use a roof top carrier to pack with
supplies.
Seating is a big part of the party and let’s face the facts,
you can’t all sit on the tailgate. Be sure to take enough chairs
for everyone to sit in and enjoy the party. Umbrellas are another
must have for tailgating parties, maybe it isn’t raining but
it could shield your head from the hot sun! Tents or canopies
are also nice accessories for the same reason you may want
umbrellas.
Tailgating is a fun way to get to know other fans, bond as
a family, and show your pride in the driver of your choice.
Plan a tailgating party for your next trip to the racetrack
and think about having the party after the race!
